We are proud to sponsor Circus Starr who are a ‘not for profit’ organisation who help under-privileged children and children with disabilities the chance to run away to the circus and forger their troubles for a day.

Since Circus Starr was first established 1987, it has given over one million of these children opportunities that they would not normally have. Monstermove UK has teamed up with Circus Starr, sponsoring the circus event which is to be held in September, providing tickets for children and their carers to attend the event.

“Circus Starr is a charitable organisation that supports disabled, underprivileged and vulnerable children through its world class show. The circus is a magical place and a wonderful arena for inclusion and equality; we see time and again how a trip to the circus can change a child’s life.”  Neville Wilson (Director, Circus Starr)

Thursday 17th September 2015

Circus Starr is coming to HULL with a brand new tour and breath-taking line-up of acts on Thursday 17th September 2015.

Over the past few months, local businesses have been generously supporting the show by buying tickets that are now being donated to local children’s charities, support groups and special schools.

Circus Starr Director, Neville Wilson comments, “The children we invite to our shows face many challenges. Some have physical disabilities or learning difficulties, others have life limiting illnesses or are living in refuges. For all of them, life is a struggle and few ever have the chance to experience a live show such as ours.  We simply could not do this without the support we receive from Hull businesses from the big corporations to the sole traders, every donation we receive makes a difference to these children’s lives.”

NOTES TO EDITORS:

Circus Starr is a world class, touring circus featuring acrobats, dancers and entertainers from across the globe. It is also an independent, charitable organisation that supports disabled, underprivileged and vulnerable children across the UK through a 75 venue tour held three times a year.

Circus Starr operates a unique Donated Ticket Programme that enables thousands of children to attend free circus shows thanks to the generous support of local businesses who, in turn, enjoy the opportunity to ‘give back’ to their communities. It works closely with parents, foster parents, teachers, Local Authorities and others caring for or working with disabled children or children and young people with statements of Special Educational Needs.  The donated tickets provided are distributed to over 3,000 children’s charities and organisations throughout the UK.

Circus Starr launched as a Social Enterprise and became a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2010. Through its unique network of partner charities and local businesses, it provides over £1.3 million worth of free tickets to children, their families and community groups throughout the UK every year.
