Safe House Removals in Hull

Safety equipment is essential when carrying out a house removals in Hull properly. For most sofas, we use purpose made protective covers to transport them which means that your furniture is protected before it is moved from the room in your home until it is in place at your new address.

We use covers for all sizes of sofas. Armchairs, two seated, three seated and four seated sofas. The only exception is corner style sofas which currently there are no purpose made protection available for. We combat this by making our own protection using our trusty removal blankets and shrink wrap which is a stretchy and heavy duty cling film type material. This polythene wrap which we cover the entire piece with leaving no part of it exposed. Much like you will see in the following picture.

Caring for furniture

Over to the right we have an image of Monsters Sean and John safely wrapping a table top with transit blankets and shrink wrap. House removals is not an exact science. Furniture is different shapes and sizes, the layout of buildings are all different; because of this, it is impossible to become absolutely perfect at what we do. That’s just being honest. Rather than chance it, we recommend our premium service whereby all of your worldly possessions are wrapped on site, before being carried to the van. It just makes sense to us. When we move ourselves, as we do from time-to-time, we always ensure that our own property is treated in this way. Our premium service typically adds an hour or so onto the length of the job and ensured that everything is protected at all times.

House removals – Packing the van

If a van hasn’t been packed correctly, the cargo is at risk whilst in transit. Anyone who drives will tell you, British roads are less than smooth. A customer once said to me, and this made me laugh – “In Britain, we used to drive on the left of the road, now we drive on what’s left of the road”. Very true! Because of this, the cargo area of our vans is always packed safely, and efficiently. Everything is wrapped and strapped leaving no room for movement, rubbing and of course, damage!

Piano moving

Certainly not for the faint-hearted! Pianos are awkward, cumbersome and not to forget, blooming heavy. This is a small instrument which you can see being handled by two men in this example. Most piano’s require four men to enable them to be safely handled. Always advise if there is a piano in your house contents so that we can allocate the right amount of bodies. Having too fewer hands on the job could lead to injury and/or damage.
